Kaveri Solution
South and Eastern States Should Take
The Lead and Work Together

By Kulamarva Balakrishna

Here is a realist proposal:Sothern States who make money
particularly Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil
Nadu should come forward to share a part of investment
needed for increasing water resources and go united to the
Union Government seekng support.

That should help to end the missing water supplies. The
Kaveri dispute should be considered a matter of the past
history and burried. The concerned States should look
into the face of the future.

There is no point one state fighting another by holding
bandhs or other disruptive and distructive activities, that in
any case can not help harnessing water when rivers go dry.
Just as in sport, The States should learn to play as team
led by the "foreign coach" Greg Chapell.

If there is water in the rivers they could be shared. When there
is no water the Tribunal can not make water by pissing! So it is
the responsibility of elected politicians to think in realist constructive
ways.

With the U.S--India Nuclear Deal opening the supplies of nuclear
material to India, it should now be easier to construct about
fifty desalination plants on the eastern coast from Kanya Kumari
to the Bay of Bengal. These will help India tide over the water
crisis. It will also help in guaranteeing employment for millions.

The project should be linked to a scheme that would help the
coastal region by reforestation in the east to meet emergencies
caused by seasonal storms and tsunamis heavy down pours like
the one witnessed in Bombay two years ago.

Kumaraswami and company should take the lead to approach
CM Karunanidhi with the proposal. I am sure he would respond
positively. If any problem, I can help by intervention.I have already
sent the proposal to Chief Ministers Karunanidhi and Kumaraswami,
with a copy to The President.

In the next stage, Orissa and West Bengal should be roped in
to join in the process so the country will gain.

Side by side, on the country wide routes of National Highways, a flood
preventing monsoon lake chain system should be developed to lift
the sinking ground water table. Here also the States should participate
in investment. Participation is the key word. Both the programmes
would help in reducing the poverty and taking away hooligans
from the roads.

For once politicians of the country should realise they have to fulfil
the responsibility of government. There is no time to be lost. If
indifferent now, then it would be too late.

So it is our responsibility to save and secure the country for
our children.

Unrealisitc even after Bombay down pour

After experincing a tsunami and an unprecedented down pour
of rains in Bombay,Our politicians' current approach to the problem,
is the same like to all other problems, unrealistic and counter productive.
It sums up something what I desribe below.

The Tamil Nadu, Karnataka governments seem set to fight it out.
They have no proposal to make clouds pregnant to induce rains
in the catchment area of the river. They are thinking only in the terms
of sharing what is not there.

In no way they show eagerness to talk sense with the opponents.
Some were hesitant to ask co-operation from the opposing political forces.

Their public aspproach as evidenced in Karnataka, they would seek the
blessings of Sri Puttaparti Sai Baba, to hold a conference of the former
irrational Prime Minister Bajpayee,Jinnah disciple Advani, and BJP President
Ranjnath Singh, NDA convenor George Fernandes and other allies in
Bangalore to consider as if their own mid-term proposal as against the
desalination plants suggested by me.

The gist of the proposal: Bangalore's five million plus population's sewer
discharges remain not properly routed. It should be routed to the river
Kaveri to enhance its flow levels. Thus Kaveri canal systems could be converted
into fertiliser mixed watering system as developed by the great agriculturist
Shri Lakshmi Narayana Hegde of Sagara, Shimogga for his own gardens.

It is however, not explained how this would help to gain the good will and
co-operation of Tamil Nadu since they would also like to use Kaveri water
driking purposes.

A message from one Narayan Namboodaripad says he would request support
of Bajrang Dal and RSS Chief Sudarshan for support and conduct a
Indra-Varuna Yajna, which will at once make sure Kaveri permanently remain
over flowing.

Another report comes to say a certain Dr.Padiyar of Kundapur and Prof.
Dr. Havyaka Morante Keshava Bhat would make a Vishnu Sahasranama
yoga of five thousand women at Bhagmandla to see that Kaveri will have
a full flow to meet all the needs of the four states benefitting the Tribunal
award.

The first one came from Kanchipuram's under trial guru and shishya swamis.
They propose if the criminal case against them is withdrawn they would be
willing to go on to Bhagmandla, where river Kaveri spurts out, and like the
great sage Agastya, piss on Kaveri to increase its flow.

A proposal reportedly made by former Prime Minister Deve Gowda was
that the entire Vokkaliga community led by him,his sons and his beer bottle
wielding grandson would go by special buses to Kodagu to camp there and
urinate for increasing the river flow so the available water for distribution
among the states by the tribunal would be sufficient.

On their part, would be Deputy Chief Minister Yediyoorappa leading the BJP
and Bajrang Dal volunteers, also in special buses would go in their turn/
paryaya to do their duty and enhance the flow of the river.

From Kerala came the plan that they would send their best man, award
winning unemployed Shashi Taroor to Bhagmandla "to do the needful" as
long it is required.

From Tamilnadu, the Opposition ADMK announced it was contemplating to send
Amma, that is its Purachi Talvi to go with a big crowd to contribute their
share. According Amma, the population of Kaveri Delta and catchment area has
exploded with piss resources to balance dwindling flow on the river. There
would be then no need to have expensive desalination plants.

From Andhra Pradesh came the suggestion they would prefer increasing the flow
of Godavari through voluntary pissing.

From Udupi, Pejawara Seer offered to send his selected disciple Uma Bharti
with a cheddiless crowd so they can make instant water into Kaverimukha.

Vokkaligas opposing Devegowda and his family rule, understood be the followers
of Dikeshi and others in Karnataka said they should be permitted to urinate in
the river's catchment areas from the point of view of maintaining the peace
with Deve Gowda.

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi seem to be inclined he would at once
respond positively if Karnataka makes a proposal formally to set up 50
desalination plants in the country's eastern cost to find a final solution.

But no one however, promised to consider the Kaveri issue has been solved
finally. For this they seek the intervention of the Centre.

Dear K.B,

You have touched the right point at the right time.

Your proposal is as good as in 'Aesoph's Moral Tales'!

I wonder how all those politicians would pass urine while most of them are under dialysis caused by over-feeding of public revenue!

I support your say here and wish you all the best, K.B!
