University Prof.Sree Sreenivasan likes to
inform about this year´s Sarojini Naidu
Prize.I would not be suprised if there are
journalists in India today who might not know
who was Sarojini Naidu. For them, she was
politically engaged poetess, close to Mahatma
Gandhi. It was her daughter Padmaja, who
was the first Governor of West Bengal. Her
younger sibling Sharatchandra Chattopadhyaya,
Kamaladevi´s husband and a humourous
poet and actor, young man all his time, was
a member of parliament from Bangalore.
