SAJA offers 20,000 dollars

Vienna,05-10-2007: SAJA Group Inc., a non
profit charitable organization registered
with the State of New York Charities
Bureau, invites serious journalists
to participate in depth report projects
which it intends to support upto USD
20,000 in fellowship grants of between
3000 and 7000 dollars.

Announcing the fellowship, Mr.Sree
Sreenivasan of SAJA said the fellowships
were open for free lancers as well as
staff journalists. He made it clear that the
fellowships are not restricted to South
Asians only.

SAJA group commenced giving in depth
reporting fellowships three years ago in
the wake of =tsunami= disaster. It is funded
by SAJA members,(South Asian Journalists
Association) .

This year the group got an additional funding
of 20,000 dollars a year by Mahadeva Family
Foundation.The support of Kumar Mahadeva
and Simi Ahuja, who had been part of the group
for over a decade," is critical to the SAJA´s
core mission of covering South Asia through
its fellowships" said Ms.Deepti Haleja,
the group´s president and Associated Press
news woman.

The dead line for project proposals has
been set as 31-10-2007. The candidates may

Mr.Sreenivasan used the occasion to seek
financial support from journalists and
corporate entities .
